Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

So what size tires is everyone running on the 20's? Is there a thread somewhere (I tried looking) or website that has pics of the different sizes? I don't want no rubber bands. The best I could come up with is 295/40/20 and 255/40/20 but can't seem to find a close pic of how big the sidewall is. I'm not that good when it comes to tire sizes. Brossow, whats the difference between the 255/40/20 and the 245/40/20 that you got? Any pics? - Edit also my local tire guy can't get these sizes in the same brand. He told me online ordering and he could mount and balance for me. He said he checked almost all warehouses in southeast and no one has these sizes in matching brands. Any thoughts?

Here's a link to a really nice tire size calculator that will tell you exactly what the width and sidewall height of any tire is: http://www.gtsparkplugs.com/TireCalculator.html

To answer your question, the 255/40-20 is 10" wide with a 4" sidewall. The 245/40-20 is 9.65" wide with a 3.86" sidewall. You didn't ask, but the 295/40-20 is 11.6" wide with a 4.65" sidewall. Ideally I would have gone with a 295/35-20 in the rear (with a 4" sidewall) to more closely match the sidewall height up front, but that size wasn't available in the tires I wanted.

I don't have any pics of the ones I picked out today -- they had to order 'em in special and they're coming from two different locations (rears from NC and fronts from GA).

Give Discount Tire Direct a call (800-589-6789). They'll beat anyone's prices (after shipping is figured in) and have access to warehouses across the country. My local DT guy called half a dozen DT warehouses before turning up the rears for me, and for the fronts he's actually getting them from The Tire Rack (a competitor -- go figure).

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

SECURITY GUY - My 96 GMC Yukon, pictured in post #522 on the previous page is running 20x8.5's and 255-40-20's in front and 20x10's and 295-40-20's out back.

thanks to all involved in the group purchase deal, I have been wanting to wheel and tire my Yukon for over a yr now and just couldn't make up my mind which wheel I wanted and I was doing research on the Boss 338's and found this forum. with info and deals like I have found on this site I think I will stick around. The price was what made me pull the trigger on these whells and I'm glad I did.

My tires are Toyo Proxxes ST 2's, I got them from onlinetires.com in 3 days. My truck is lowered with a McGaughy's kit and its either 3"/4" 0r 4"/4" .
