Reproduction Bumpers, Any Good?

I need a front bumper for my 71 C-10. I could re-chrome the one I have but it will cost more than buying a Repro. Anyone know if the Repro fit and finish is any good?

Re: Reproduction Bumpers, Any Good?

I got a repro rear bumper from eBay that was OK. It looks nice, but doesn't seem to be as well made as the original front bumpers on either of my trucks. Here's a tip though, consider getting stainless carriage bolts to bolt one on rather than bumper bolts. I got mine from Lowes.

The ones I have bought in the past have had nice chrome and held up well. Just be careful not to over tighten the mounting bolts or they will dimple the bumpers for sure. I have seen quite a few like that around here.

I second that, the dimples really show up in chrome. Its almost like there should be some rubber washers between the brackets and the bumper.

I'm happy with mine. Can't tell any difference.
