Title Nomenclature
I recently purchased a truck from another member on this website and my following question regards title model code. The title under his ownership showed 1987 GMC Sierra R10. However, I just received my new Oklahoma title in the mail and it shows 1987 GMC Sierra R15? I cannot find any reference for why it would say R15 and have never heard of this nomenclature when referring to a 1987 Chevrolet/GMC truck. Does anyone else have this model code on their title or know why it would say R15? I did verify that the vin # is correct on the title. Thanks for any help.

Re: Title Nomenclature
to the best of my knowledge during the 73-87, chevy's were c-10/20/30, and gmc's were 15/25/35? here in ar my 83 title says c15.

Re: Title Nomenclature
c/k in a square bodies was 73-86 since the 88-98 were going to be called c/k so they changed it to r/v for 87-91 for less confusion
