70 to a 71-72 grill conversion
anyone every converted a 70 to a 71 or 72 front grill and shell and all that? does it bolt right up. im getting my new 70 longbed tomorrow. its blue (fresh paint) with some random custom wheels. its a 6 lug which makes my wheel choices not that good. no disc brakes so i cant do the early classic drop without converting... anyone know a good 4/6 kit that doesnt require discs up front?

If it's coils, Early Classic has a 3/5 drop that doesn't require a spindle change (it's what I used). It includes springs, shocks, shock relocators and adjustable panhard bar.
There are more and more 6 lug wheels out there. I stuck with 6 lug ralleys. Good luck, Scott

From a 70 to a 71 -72 you need the grill support center brace and the hood latch from a 71-72. What are you gonna do for front signals... 70 front bumper dosen't have the holes for the 71-72 style lights.

Go ahead and convert it over to 5 lug/disk brakes. You know you want too. :p

I don't know why you would want to change from a 70 to a 71/72 grill. Everyone knows the 69/70 grill was the best one ever made.

I agree with bobs409...so if ya yank the 69 set up, send me pics...you may not have to post it for sale. As a reference...I was in high school when the 67's were introduced, and everyone loved the barred grill...69 comes along, and it was a single bar that we all liked also....71 comes out, and we all couldn't believe they put that ugly egg crate grill on it!!!!! Why would Chevy ruin their truck? Well, we all know the reaction to the 73 and up truck! I'll take a egg crate 71-72 any day, before a 73 up!
