Brake Calipers stuck- 77 Chevy truck

I recently purchased a 77 Chevy truck 1/2 ton from a local soldier who has been in Iraq and Afganistan for a year and half. The front brake caliper on the left side is frozen/stuck and will not release. I cracked the brake bleeder and it releases until you hit the brake the next time.
Any tricks to freeing it up, short of replacing the caliper?

For even less he could have a new rubber hose! Haha, I ran into the same problem and replaced my calipers (only to have it continue). New rubber brake lines and the brakes were great! The inside of the hose collapses and acts like a check valve. I would try to replace them and if that still doesn't solve your dilema, THEN I would buy new calipers.

Re: Brake Calipers stuck- 77 Chevy truck

Hoses and thats my final offer. same problem with the 87k mile 83 c10 i just got, rusted on the bracket that holds it to the a arm, doesnt look rusted but was interiorly done. replace hoses, calipers should be fine if it bled off. I had to replace drivers caliper because bleeder broke off clean, and already has a new pair that came with the truck.
