Hi There,Can anyone out there tell me the best way to remove rust from Chrome rims? I bought a set of Rims for my Blazer and they have a little rust on them and was wondering how to remove it, Anyone have any ideas? Thanks-Juan

What is Naval jelly? I know what naval lint is!

But I have the same problem with my rims, how do you keep it off? Do you put something on the rimms to protect them?

I found some Naval Jelly in my basement once, it was like 40 years old. I first used it when i was stripping the paint off my bike when I was like 15 or so. I left the bare frame outside and it got alot of surface rust on it. I took a paper towel, soaked with with naval jelly(well, mooshed the naval jelly into the rag lol) and the rust just wiped off. Pretty cool stuff.

I have used fast orange with a scotchbrite pad with great results. And the gest part is that your hands are clean when you are done.LOL

What the other guys said, and for a final polishing, use Mothers polish. If nowhere else, a Harley dealer will have it. ...Zoomy

Turtle wax chrome polish works pretty good for me

Most of the Navel Jelly says not to use it on chrome surfaces.............

Any one have bad experiences with this.....?

yeah, leaves chrome surface kinda dim....That I just found out...now for the fast orange idea...then the Turtle wax idea, thanks...I will let you know the results.

I just use SOS pads with the soap in them, then a good coat of wax.

I don't think I'd use navel jelly. If it gets under the chrome plating, it might cause peeling. That stuff is also very nasty to your skin.

When I was a kid, we used to use comet & a toothbrush to get the rust off our bicycle wheels. It got rid of the rust but it would always come back a few months later - and that was in LA.

What about Polishing Compound and then a good coat of wax?

I've heard the same thing about the coca-cola, but I'm sure you'd have to soak it in the coke, that's a few 24 packs if you're doing wheels

Makes you wonder what that acid does to your stomach. Won't stop me from drinking it though.
