I had them machined down to fit the hub of the wheel. I didn't cost me anything because of good friends that own a machine shop hooked me up. I am still fighting the whole cap issue like in the original post but I will figure something out. Is anyone running a different style cap that maybe a little deeper so I do not have to run a spacer? Anyhow the tires I am going with are the new BFG G force KDW T/A. 285-40-18 in rear and 245-40-18 in front. The overall diameter is only 1" different from front to rear so it worked out for the look I want. I wanted a 295 but there is not one available in this style. Thanks for the comments! I am very pleased with how the chassis is coming together. I still need to finish up a few things and install a shock relocator kit from Nathan at Porterbuilt so it will lay flat on the front crossmember when I air it down. |

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
According to the vendors and website you can get a 295 but it is a 295-35-18 which is an 1" shorter in overall diameter at 26" instead of the 27" with the 285-40-18. I figured a 10mil difference is not even a 1/2" so I went with more sidewall vs smaller sidewall

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
Ok, I like to keep about the same side wall front back, that's why I'm running the 295-35, because it's only about a half inch taller than the 245-40.

285/40-18: 4.49" sidewall, 26.98" diameter 245/40-18: 3.86" sidewall, 25.72" diameter In my opinion (and it's just a matter of personal taste) I would have gone with the 295/35 since the sidewall and diameter are both similar (closer, anyway) to the 245/40, whereas the 285/40 is 1.26" taller overall with a 0.63" taller sidewall -- the 285/40 doesn't look as matched, but again that's just IMHO. It'll look good regardless of the tires. ![]()
