TH 400 info needed.

Hey guys. Just planning out my th400 crossmember build and had a few questions. I have my BBC sitting on p.o.l. mounts and i am not sure how high above the bottom of the frame rails the th400 mount is supposed to be. Any pics or info would be greatly appreciated as i dont have a factory mount to go by. Thanks!

Here is a pic of my 67 frame with the stock small block/TH350 mount moved back to the alternate holes drilled for the big block, long snout trans combo. The height does not change, the pad for the trans mount is about 1/2 in above the top inner surface of the lower frame rail. After assembly of the cab I had to replace the stock trans crossmember with a CPP mount to make room for the exhaust. But, I just measured the height of the pad on the crossmember for the trans mount...1/2 in above the top of the bottom rail.

Okay so bottom of mount is roughly 1/2 inch above top of bottom rail. does your engine/trans seem to be laying back a fair amount?? mine does and just curious to see if others noticed the same. Thanks!

It does but that's because I'm runnung the 68-71 big block frame stands. The 72 or 73-87 stands will drop the front of the motor by 3 1/2 inches letting you level the carb flange on the intake manifold.

Re: TH 400 info needed.

okay i see. mine does look a little lower w/ the p.o.l mounts but not much. just came in from garage and w/ trans mount 1/2 above bottom of rail my engine leans to the back a fair bit. only thing i can do really is set the cab on and run the jack under trans pan and see where i come into contact issues w/ low hump floor. thanks again for the helpful pics.
