Hey guys, I found a deal like this one too and wanted to ask some questions on this thread if its ok.
the engine is 15mins from me and its a 5.3lt from a 2003 2500hd. It doesn't have a trans and has low miles. But wiring harness and ecu are included for 450$cash, he also has an 8.1lt that has a trans for 700. So what's better? Also I am paying 70$ a week in gas like flaming. And I can't afford it. But I could get this engine

Not a bad deal. I hear that the 8.1L has a bad rep of piston slap and really sucks the gas. I would stick with the 5.3L or look for a 6.0L if you want more power. Just my .02.

5.3 in a HD???? id double check on that.

Actually I think the 8.1l came out of the HD. and he had the 5.3l as a spare O.o haha. He was sort of a confusing guy, didn't speak clearly.
