Re: hubcap restoriation

I have the 1971 "dog dishes", 1 stainless steel and 3 chrome. I sent them to hubcaps.com in calif to get them restored. The SS one came back in excellant condition. The chrome ones were a bit rusty and really needed to be rechromed before the dents are removed and paint applied. The rechroming was very expensive they said so I had them done w/o rechroming. The cost was $75 each, a bit high, but they were done very well, timely, no dents, and the paint is great, shinny too. The rust is still there on the chrome ones. Adds charecter I suppose. The SS ones are hard to find.

Hope this helps

redbaron, Those are either painted steel or stainless steel caps, if they are '67-'68...don't pay attention to the SPID. I had a number for a guy that wanted about $55/cap to restore them. Not sure I can find it again but will try.
