New to me truck 1968 C20 50th
I had the pleasure this weekend of driving 835 kms, each way, to pick up this beauty.
It is probably familiar to a bunch of you as I bought it from list member short-t from Calgary. Here is the spid. Photos are from short-t still as I haven't pulled out the camera since arriving home this afternoon. I was a good trip, left Saturday morning at 7 AM with my 04 Duramax and the car trailer. Meet short-t near Peace River about 3:15 PM, loaded and I was heading north again by 5 PM. Spent the night in High Level. Drove home the last 575 kms today. I can't say enough about the great treatment short-t has given me. I drove the truck last November in Calgary at his home, which I thought was very generous. This past week we worked together to get the truck transfered and at ever step of the way he was more that accommodating. I inquired about getting the truck appraised for insurance reasons. He arranged it, met the appraiser, heck he even paid the guy and I repaid him when we met. Upstanding deal. Did I mention that he drove halfway for the cost of fuel!

So here are a few pictures.
Me driving it ready to load. On the trailer ready to head north. In my driveway. And finally away in the garage for the night.

Nice looking truck! You might check to see why the bed sets high on the driver's side.

Re: New to me truck 1968 C20 50th
Blaine, it was great to meet the rest of your family and I am glad you had a safe trip and that they like the truck.
Out of all the vehicles I have sold that is the first one that has brought a tear to my eye as I watched it leave on your trailer, Terri noticed I was upset and started to tear up as well. I ended up jumping on Steve's quad to try and get it out of my head, nonetheless my garage sure looks empty with out her sitting there! It is a beautiful truck and is a true survivor for sure. I know it has gone to a good home and will be cared for. Just to put it in perspective, that truck has now gone 2128 miles north from where she was originally from! This is what I saw that Saturday afternoon, |
