Re: Chevy vs gmc

BTW - It probably wouldn't surprise you all to hear that we would sometimes build a truck with Chevy emblems on one side and GMC emblems on the other...

Re: Chevy vs gmc

Call me crazy but that would be cool to get one from the factory with both badges. But it would only be cool if it was straight from the factory that way and someone didn't do it on purpose.

I wonder how many of those made it for years with no one catching on. It's not like you can see both sides at the same time. It'd have to be a person who doesn't care about trucks though.

Re: Chevy vs gmc

Usually it would get caught in the next inspection station (or repair), but I wouldn't be surprised if a few got out.

I was at a car show a few years ago and was talking with the (now retired) former owner of a local Chevy dealership. He told me his dealership received a C60 Chevy truck back in the mid 70's that came from the factory with a GMC badge on one side

Re: Chevy vs gmc

I was told by my father that a GMC was basically a Chevrolet with lock washers!

I PDIed a 96 model GMC with a Chevrolet tailgate. Quick trip to the body shop and it was all GMC
I also had one with body side molding on one side and no molding on the other. Jay
