Lipstick on a pig
My detached garage is a gravity defying marvel of do it yourselferness. Not even sure if I want to go much into detail of whats wrong with it. Basically it's built using unconventional construction methods. I am having the house appraised next week so I decided to dress it up a little bit. I didn't want to spend much so I bought some fence boards and ripped them for corner trim. The face lift cost me $13.00 bucks and change.

Re: Lipstick on a pig
You know what Jesse? My '71 was to be stored in there when we bought the house. I carefully backed her in only to find out that me rtuck is 6" too long. Guess what. So is the '63 & 67.

Sooo Don, Do a little more unconventional construction and extend the door openings a foot.

Re: Lipstick on a pig
Thought about doing that. The guy poured the door roller channel into the cement. I understand that the person I bought the house from did some pretty extensive work to get the doors to work. I'll have to snap a couple pics. You guys will be amazed how this thing is built.

Time for a shortie conversion on both The Buick is as long as a longbed truck? Didn't realize that. My problem is how wide the garage is, it's 24' deep (great!) but only 22' wide (crap!)

Re: Lipstick on a pig
Not sure but I think it was a carport first? That one 4x4 post on the middle remined me of the thunder dome. It had eight braces on it top & bottom. I think someone was showing off.

That is an "interesting" bit of construction there. As long as it works! Mark
