Hell yeah. There are only about five people that come in here and you seem to be pretty knowledgeable. We should be asking you not to leave.

Re: you guys are gonna hate me
I don't see why not. I plan on letting mine go in a couple/few years for an HHR. In just the two years I've had it, I've estimated that it's saved me $1,800 in fuel costs. By the time I pass it on, it should have "paid" for itself, but I should still be able to get $1.5-2K out of it when I sell it. Plus, so far, it's saved about 18,000 miles off my Z71 which I plan on keeping until the wheels completely fall off.
I've learned it's just not practical to have 14-15+ year old DD's if you drive as many miles per year as I do.

Re: you guys are gonna hate me
i bought a 99 ranger brand new and drove it for 10 years without it breaking down. I replaced a timing belt at 120K, front pads, tires, and oil changes for maintenance, and the only mechanical things that went on it was the front sway bar links about 90K and twice the resistor that makes the fan motor work on the lower speeds ( that happened twice). IOther than that it was all original and is still all original and still going at 185K on the clock.. this freakin S10 i have has 136K on it and every time i drive it something else breaks.. Im very sorry i sold my ranger with only 155K on the clock.. i could still hop into it at a moments notice and drive anywhere in the country in it and not worry about it skipping a beat

Re: you guys are gonna hate me
Did you buy the S-10 new? If not, you're comparing apples to oranges
My '91 S-10 has not broke down or left me stranded once. It is my DD and recently passed 200K. In it's entire life, it has only needed tires, front brakes (rears original), water pump, pcv valve, one tune-up, front sway bar end links, coolant temp sensor, thermostat, and a blower motor relay. Everything else is still original, clutch, shocks, tie rods, ball joints, etc. And I don't need to worry about rear shackles and hangers rusting out like nearly every Ranger ever built
