Re: Which master cylinder is best for Disc/Disc???

I spoke with Jeff @ CPP, and he recommended there part #mcpvs-4 for this specific application. It's the M/C and the disc/disc proportioning valve together.

Re: Which master cylinder is best for Disc/Disc???

Gents, it's not the Master Cyl, but the proportioning valve that makes the difference.

Drum brakes require 8psi of residual pressure to keep the shoes out. The prop valve has a check in it to keep that 8lbs.

Disk brakes don't need as much.

Heck, some folks take a drum prop valve, remove the check valve from the rear circuit and run what they own.

I've done that on a few occasions.

Isn't this for a disc/drum setup?

Re: Which master cylinder is best for Disc/Disc???

I heard a lot of guys are running a m/c off a chevy monza. It has a 7/8 bore so you dont need to run a booster.

Re: Which master cylinder is best for Disc/Disc???

Im facing the same problem. I think im going with a MCPV-1 Master Cylinder from cpp. The all NEW MCPV-1 which combines the master cylinder, double adjustable proportioning valve, removable metering valve and stop light control all in one compact light weight unit, available for Disc/Drum or Disc/Disc applications.

it only cost $199.00
