flatbed

Oldiron,
I am in the process of doing the same thing mounting a flatbed with a dump. Is the box frame you used to even out the hump in the factory frame home made or did it come with your hoist kit. If you made it coud you give me dimensions? Also did you have to install heavier leafs ? By the way your truck looks great

Is that a longhorn frame. I have one that I was thinking of doing something simular. Either a flatbed dump or a wrecker. Wrecker bed for a long horn might be hard to find though. Probably take a lot of modification. Nice truck you have there.

If you can, post a pic with the bed down also. Looks great. That's gonna be very handy.

Sorry for taking so long to answer all of your questions I have been working on building side racks and installing an under the bed tool storage box.
The truck is a 157 inch wheel base 327cu in with a 2 bbl. and a 4 speed trans. The leaf springs are stock.
The filler plate from the rear axle to the cab was made from 12 inch wide L angle. I will try and get some better pictures of it. And was bolted to the frame with six grade 8 3/4 inch bolts on each side.
The bed measures out 8 feet wide and 12 feet long with a 3 foot high head ache rack in front.
Hopefully I will have some more pictures developed by next week.
Thanks for all of the comments and questions.
Dennis
