Re: what is the cst option

CST is a trim package level as I believe. Correct me if I am wrong.

Re: what is the cst option

Yep, Custom sport truck. It was a trim package. If I'm not mistaken it included upper & lower trim, window trim, headliner, covered door panels, chrome bumper, etc.

Re: what is the cst option

67 - 70, the top trim level was CST... Custom Sport Truck. In 1971, the same option package (Z82 if memory serves) was renamed Cheyenne.
As mentioned above, it is mostly trim. Lower woodgrain trim, woodgrain on the tailgate, carpetting inside, lots of added brightwork on the windows and dash controls, a headliner and cargo light... and a few other bits too.

Re: what is the cst option

The vin tag is the metal plate Riveted to the door jam on the driver’s side. The option sticker in the glove box is the SPID. Even though in 71 they called the top of the line a Cheyenne, the SPID on a lot of 71’s, listed the option as a CST. By 1972 the SPID read “Cheyenne”

Re: what is the cst option

I've wanted to post this for a while. I had a 70 CST short stepside. It had a 350, Granny gear 4speed, 3:08 posi, front swaybar, deluxe scrolled interior, tinted glass and chrome vents, stainless window trim, deluxe side markers, and chrome front and rear bumpers, and it was red. I drove it for about 10 years before the Florida elements got to it! Having known what I know now, I think this one would have been a rare truck, and well worth the restore. Has anyone heard of a truck like this? Thanks, Greg

Re: what is the cst option

being a stepside woulda made it fairly rare.

Re: what is the cst option

I had a 70 CST LWB in high school, I traded it of in 2005. It had deluxe bucket seat interior, factory air, chrome vents, stainless window trim, cargo light, and leaf springs!!! I am really kicking myself now that I want all those options back!
