New guy got his 1st truck

Hey everyone, just introducing myself. Im Kyle from GA, waiting to leave for basic training. Finishing up the body work on my 67 mustang - 4 yrs and running on the restoration. I previously owned a 94 wrangler but had to sell it due to getting laid off and not being able to pay the payments. Well my grandfather had received a truck from his friend for a transmission. The PO had put about 2500 in rebuilding the 305 in the truck but couldnt get it to run right. It turned out being a bad plug wire and the flywheel bolts had backed out. So after fixing it he gave it to me so i would have a daily driver. Its a 75 c10 with a 305 / th350 and a twelve bolt with 373 gears in the back. When i first got it there was a topper and the bumper was held on by rope, it leaned about two inches on the passenger side and had some transmission leaks in it. Well now i have fixed the tranny pan leak, changed the ujoints, redone the interior ( it was 3 different colors lol ) and am currently fixing the output shaft seal and bushing ( having to wait to get the bushing out ) the truck no longer leans finally but i just thought i would stop by an introduce myself. I have actually been coming to the forums for about 3 months now and finally made an account lol

here are some pics
this is the truck without the topper after i had just got it

and the truck now - sorry for the first dark picture i had just fixed some stuff and couldnt wait till the morning to take a picture

and here is a picture of my old jeep

I second the THANK YOU. Looks like a good project. Will you take it with you once you get to your duty station, or leave it home?

Re: New guy got his 1st truck

thank you everyone

Restrorob - it does have some rusty areas on the truck, not as bad as i thought, the passenger inner fender is completely shot and the back bottom corners of the cab are bad, the windshield has b.b.s lodged in it so a new windshield is necessary. Overall though i will be keeping it pretty stock..............well i say that now haha

Driveway Dreams - the truck will be coming with me, the mustang is staying

Re: New guy got his 1st truck

What service are you going into? Do you have your job already lined up? The truck looks like a good project.
