Which models came with the 12 bolt rear in them.

My 83 had a 10 bolt factory and I have an 80 model with a 10 bolt factory. I believe 79 was the last full year for 12 bolts.

After several searches on car-part.com, it looks like...
2wd could have 10 or 12 from '78-'81 4x4 could have 10 or 12 from '81-'83 So, '77 was the last year that everything had a 12 bolt, an '84 was the first year that everything had a 10 bolt.

Ok thanks. Recently bought an 86 k10 with a 12 bolt rear and when i went to go get parts they said that truck didnt come with the 12 bolt lol. At least i now know to ask for something pre '79
