Burb gas tank in truck

will a burb gas tank fit under the bed of a pickup truck?

i notice the aftermarket tanks made for burbs hold 5-10 more gallons of fuel compared to the aftermarket truck tanks (19-21 gallons)

Re: Burb gas tank in truck

My brother bolted one into his '68 C10 short fleet. I still have the tank if you want a picture of it. I think it is 25 gallons.

The one he got was an original out of a junkyard 'burb.

Re: Burb gas tank in truck

Mounts to the frame with metal straps but I have seen them mounted inside the frame with out straps with a little trimming of the lower frame rail..

It mounted to the bottom of the frame. The holes you see in the side flange lined up with holes in the frame. He just put some big 'ol bolts in and drove it for years. No straps came with it and he didn't use any.

my 67 swb has a tank out of a 88, i think all the guy did was trim some off the sides and it slipped into the frame rails, good luck
