Re: upgrade front clip from 74 to an 89??
That's a good question because I wanted to do the opposite. I wanted to put an older front end on my '84. Hopefully you get some answers that could help me too! Cool truck!

That's not a 74 grille in your truck.....And the body lines on a 89 will not match the older trucks, They are totally different.....

its not the body lines that are different its the front frame horns that are different that doesnt allow you to just swap the newer coresupport over. Its doable though but you would mounts fabbed up.

Guys, he may be referring to a 89 Burb/Blazer clip...at least I would hope so.

I agree with Jeff though, I "think" he is referring to the Burb front clip.

The body lines being different is reason enough a swap shouldn't be done as N2 mentioned.

Re: upgrade front clip from 74 to an 89??
You guys are confusing me..uugghh
OBS 88-91 clip will fit your 73-87, pretty much like a glove. The core support just needs the bushings that match the frame of the truck it is going on...no "fabbing" required to make it fit. There are some other things to consider, that have been covered here on the board a zillion times. I would mention all of them, but time is not on my side...however the search button does work and should net you countless hours of reading regarding front clip swaps.

Re: upgrade front clip from 74 to an 89??
Very interesting! I like this look and am interested. I already need a new hood, so I just need fenders and radiator support? Well obviously the the lights and grill and stuff. Is the wiring pretty straightforward?
