Change it up a little....lift kit and tires on "Pretty Boy"

I've kept this truck at stock height for 12+ years. We thought this would be a neat change. With a little help from "Old School Kid" and "OrangeCrush1970" we put 4" suspension lift, new brake lines, new shocks and 36's on it.. Too much fun! For all you purists out there we didnt alter anything and it can go back to normal just as fast....Oh yea.....and with almost everything I own....Its "For Sale"!

The truck looks really good. I want to ask you how does it drive? Does it feel underpowered to move those 36's?

It's amazing how a little lift and tires/wheels can change the look of a truck so much.

Looking good.

How big of a tire can you run without a lift?

(research for future project )

I have seen 33's on them that rubbed a little......I had 31's and then 32 x 11.50 x 15 with no trouble.

Re: Change it up a little....lift kit and tires on "Pretty Boy"

I think it looks great! I never did like the factory stance on trucks. Four wheel drive trucks should be lifted and two wheel drive need to be lowered. I saw a sticker on a 4x4 truck one time that said 'lowriders are for boys who can't get it up'. Kinda funny.

That looks alot better, I like stock trucks, but that lift and those tires look right at home on there.

NICE, I hope you don't stuff a tire or hit a big bump. Say bye-bye to good sheet metal......... Sweet ride though, I used to have one similar.

This truck does not go off road and only gets driven around town.....it rarely gets wet! There is plenty of clearance for that type of usage. I have a set of 35's and was planning on using them but when we put the 36's on it and saw the amount of clearance in turns and the lack of give in the suspension...we left them on.

You are correct though....the sheet metal was a concern in the beginning and I would not be able to do any off roading with that set up....33's all the way for that.
