Power Supply LT1 Conversion Question.

So I'm coming to the end of my LT1 conversion. I have a quick question though.

I built the LT1 harness to be completely standalone. Now the LT1 side has a central power post. My understanding of the 63 harness leads me to believe that if I go from the aux post on the modern side to the Horn Relay on the old side of things, all the original parts / namely the lights will have power as required.

This is my new under hood electrical center. The small block off to the right is the positive block. I figure I need to run from there to the Horn Relay?

The 4 prong connector is for the electric fans.

Re: Power Supply LT1 Conversion Question.

Yep,

The old truck is powered off the connection at the horn relay (except for the starter of course).

Re: Power Supply LT1 Conversion Question.

Yeah, my starter circuit is all new from the bed mounted battery and ford remote solenoid to the 'vette starter in the front.

Guess I was just looking to confirm where I'm running wire to. I suppose in the future I'll probably build a custom harness for the truck side of things too. Figure remote relays for headlights and all that but for now I just need it to run.

Re: Power Supply LT1 Conversion Question.

Jegs. It even has a nice little cover that doesn't fit once you put 3, 4ga wires on there.

So if I run 12v from my block to the horn relay what do I do with the old external regulator? Do i ignore it because the regulator wires aren't connected anyway?

Thats what I would do unless a circuit is junctioned across one of the terminals. If not, I would then proceed to unbolt it and throw it away.
