Gas Tank Filler Neck / Housing
Anyone know where I might find a better looking gas tank filler neck and housing (maybe chrome) for a rear gas tank?
Obviously this is probably not the standard way to go, and I really don't like the fact the previous owner cut a hole into the body to put this in. Looks like it measures about 9X9". I talked to a body shop and he said he could weld it up for about 6 hrs labor X52$ an hour and primer it up for me. I would need to relocate this though before then. I would ideally like to put it underneath the bed with the filler neck housing flush with the bed floor, and find some kind of racing fuel cell (which I have yet to find one that would be good for this). Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks for the help as always. |

WOW.. OVER $300 HUH?? YOU CAN BUY A NICE LITTLE LINCOLN WIRE FEED WELDER & LEARN TO DO IT YOURSELF FOR THAT MUCH $, & WHEN YOU GET ALL DONE YOU GET TO KEEP THE WELDER. (IT'S NOT THAT TOUGH) THATS JUST THE WAY THIS OLD HILLBILLY THINKS. JOHN

Yeah, I was never that great at welding....
I don't want to practice on my ride either. Would rather pay the $300 and have it done right. If I had the time and patience, you're right. Just do not have that at the moment. Work too much as it is. |

You could graft what you have there and blend it into the body.Make it nice and flush with the body and paint it to match. You wouldn't have to move anything and it would look like a later 70's gm truck style.Just a thought.
