Will a 73-87 8" lift work in my 71

I have a 71 GMC 3/4 ton that I want to put a lift in and I just found a 8" suspension lift for sale locally. It is out of a 73-87 style. Will it work in the 71 and is does it matter if it is a 1/2 ton lift or 3/4 ton? Here is the add

8" front springs,8" rear springs,4 shocks,front driveshaft,rear driveshaft,brake lines,2" drop pitman arm, 4" radial steering arm. $500.00 and thats the lowest price

No. At least not easily. Rear springs are same length, but fronts are not.

fronts are about 47" on 73-87 and 44" on 67-72.
a longer shackle may work and also if you moved the front hanger.

Yes, I have them in mine, I installed longer shackles in the rear and installed a zero rate to move the axle forward. It was still a liitle far back but not too bad. I have since then added a custom front crossmember to move the front spring hangers forward to get a little more flex out of them
