Powertrax, back to peg leg rear...

Installed a powertrax a while back. Truck was leaving nice 2 black marks. Today couple of my buddies came over to show me a new camper. Anyway they wanted to see how a powertrax runs. It was a complete failure under full throttle it went back to peg leg. I tryed numerous times and called it a day. I didn't want to make too much noise on a quiet Sunday aftrenoon. Last one is a pic of a camper. Time to call Summit and *****.

Re: Powertrax, back to peg leg rear...

that's the results i've heard often about power trax
you take a chance driving it asis now because the loose pieces are known to chew up the ring and pinion gears

THE BITTERNESS OF POOR QUALITY REMAINS LONG AFTER THE SWEETNESS OF LOW PRICE IS FORGOTTEN

Re: Powertrax, back to peg leg rear...

Summit told me that it's past 90 days. Told me to call powertrax directlly. I have a feeling that I'll end up eating this. Even if they want me to send it in I don't want to disable a truck for 4-5 weeks.
Ohh well, lesson learned. I have maybe 1000 miles on that POS.

Dang Serge, I hate to hear that. I guess the Powertrax is no match for the low end grunt of that big Poncho. I had the same thing happened years ago with an Auburn carrier, so I guess none of them are bullet proof. I finally spooled my rearend and had no more troubles, but I didn't drive my car that much on the street, so that's probably not an option for you.
