steering shaft seal -
Does anyone know where I can get one of these? No one seems to stock it. The one I have is a little questionable and I don't want to get everything back together and have it leak. It's the seal half way up the steering shaft. Also, the pin that is pressed in the shaft under this seal is out of center by around 1/16-1/8". The book says it's gotta be within .012" or the column will bind. Does anyone know how critical this is? I got this column in a junkyard off a '70 one- ton, so I don't know what it steered like.

That joint is similar to a CV shaft joint. It is supposed to be packed full of grease. I'll check the parts manual, it could still be available, but I doubt it. It's worth a try. If not, I would say try to find a good used one.

I checked the parts book and did not come up with that seal#. maybe someone else can shed some light on it. Some of the board vendors that sell used parts should have one of these. Good luck.

Re: steering shaft seal -
I know this is an old post but it's one of the only ones I can find about this seal. I looked on the truck and car shop website and can't seem to find the one shown. Does anyone know if can be bought from a local parts store?
