Re: I found this to be absolutely amazing .
Wow! I grew up knowing that place and the original owner! What a trip down memory lane this link is as I still recall how he could fabricate, repair and do anything with steel and the man was old-school and knew motors! He was one of those mechanically inclined that he could "hear" the problem and know the solution and fix it at the door more than not.
Johnsons Welding Shop definitely was one of those rural America small town businesses where everyone around here knew if they needed something that involved welding or just had a fabricating idea, or a question about motors and frames small or large, this was the place to go. Yes, the place never did look like much but the owner was a virtual mechanical genius without a BS degree. It is amazing the restoration the new owner has done to turn this place into what it is today; looks totally different now! Great Link! Funny thing is I live about 5 country road miles away and haven't gone down that road in years. Definitely will stop by when it warms up to take a tour. The new owner has performed a miracle on that place and has a garage that deserves to be in a magazine! Appreciate that link! Mark

Wow, that was cool.
On page 5, there's a red 67-72 truck sitting behind the giant tire pile.

Some of those guys over at GJ roll with mega cubic bucks and water cooled checkbooks but they come up with some showplace shops/garages.
