Re: 220w extension cord?
I used a 50' 10-3 extension cord from local home store and cut the ends off and matched the plugs on the welder. Send me a pm if you want pics or wiring help.

Re: 220w extension cord?
Yeah, just get you some 8/3 SO or SJ cord (wire) and whatever plugs you need.
I just put a cord on my compressor, used 20' 8/3 SO and one male plug, got out for about $60. Got it at the local electric supply. I already have 220v, and an extension for my welder, so all I had to do was run enough power supply from the compressor to the extension cord. You'll need a female plug too, another $20? The SJ cord is (usually) slightly cheaper cause the neoprene outer shell is not quite as thick.

Re: 220w extension cord?
If you need the NEMA 6-50R and 6-50P (50 amp receptacle and plug) they were a bit** to find for me. For some reason Home Depot has the R but not the P. Likewise the electrical supply house has the P and not the R. It took too much time and running around to get them both. With those and about 40' of SJOO? 10/3 cable It cost about $85 total. That's the cheapest I could do it and believe me if I can save a buck I will. Now if you're using a dryer end for a receptacle you could save about $10.

Re: 220w extension cord?
Where would they rent a cord? Thinking for the cost it would not be worth it.
