sport bumper/tailgate question

Although I am going to put a sport bumper on my SWB truck the only one I currently have one on is my 72 LWB. I was going to put a different tailgate on it and it looks like I have to drop the sport bumper. Am I missing something or do I really have to drop the bumper?

Re: sport bumper/tailgate question

I have a sport bumper on my 70 SWB 4X4 fleet with a tail gate. Maybe you have the wrong brackets?

Re: sport bumper/tailgate question

Do both trucks have the same suspention? Brackets are different between coil and leaf suspention.

Re: sport bumper/tailgate question

Think he means does he have to drop the bumper to install the new gate. The answer is yes and no. You can install the new gate but the lower bolts are hard to get in with the bumper in place, so it is easier with the bumper removed, especially if the dust shields are there.

You nailed it. Sorry I did not make it clear.
