'63 Chevy C30 flatbed

My fine brother found this beauty for me in southern Oregon. The original owner signed the original title over to him last Friday. It is absolutely rust-free and well optioned with a factory 283 sbc with 26,000 original miles, 2-speed Powerglide, power brakes, Cool-Pak underdash A/C, dash-mounted compass, altimeter & clock, body trim, windshield trim, etc., etc., etc.

neat find, wonder if it was originally a camper; with the auto, and all the options.

Re: '63 Chevy C30 flatbed

My brother said it was purchased as a Chassis/Cab and taken by the original owner to a motor coach builder for the cabover camper conversion. I am going to my brother's sometime in May, so I can take a closer look and take some additional photos. I will be bringing it and a few others back to my shop in Kansas City, sometime this summer.

Re: '63 Chevy C30 flatbed

C20 was available with dual rear wheels with coil springs and trailing arms. C30 came with leafs, according to the 1963 Chevrolet Truck Data Book. 157" wheel base?

Custom Chrome Option
Bumper.

Custom Side Moldings Option
Should be White paint between moldings. Pure White on Pure White.

Hubcaps, Series Designation plate C20 , Cab "CUSTOM" trim plate- Bowties and lettering should be red.

Aftermarket A/C condensor. Drier missing from drivers side of rad support. Dealer installed A/C had X braces removed from rad support.

Auxiliary battery box drivers side? Same as stock passenger side reversed?

A/C evaporator in cab and compressor not FrigiKing Cool Pack, or Mark IV. Systems amusingly known as Crotch Air
Reference 1963 Chevrolet Silver Book/ Custom Feature Accessories Album.

66 Master cylinder, bleeder on top of master. 64/65 did not have bleeder. 63 is rectangular small side forward.

Power steering?

No windshield washer hoses, container or squirter's?

Would really like to see how that hubcap is mounted and dimensions.

Soft Ray green tinted windshield? A/C truck option.

Custom Apperance Option
Bright metal windshield molding,
Cab " CUSTOM " trim plate,
Bright metal grille,
Steering wheel with horn ring,
Chromed trim instrument panel knobs and Two Tone Interior Trim ( door panels, instrument panel, steering column and black & white glove box ).
Very interesting white Ashtray and white standard recirculating heater controls including white space in between. Never seen that.

Locking gas cap?

Seat belts, 62 webbing with retractors. Irving Airchute Co. Model#5000. on the buckle?

Custom Comfort Option
Full depth foam seat.
" Red vinyl is used for the facings with Red, White or Gray exteriors"
Red armrest drivers side.
Right side armrest, dealer installed custom feature.
Right sunshade.
Right door lock.
Chromed Cigarette Lighter.
Special insulation.
Quoted from 1963 Dealers Truck Data Book. Rare seat!

Powerglide optional C-P20, not on C30.

Radio with aftermarket antenna?

Uses series 50-80 Instrument Cluster with optional gauges or tachometer.
None of the additional gauges are stock.

Hazard light switch?

Bubble level, under the dash below the glove compartment!

Man am I jealous! I'll stop now!
