1981 GMC 454ci flexplate tooth count?
Bone stock 81 GMC 2wd dually with a 454 and th400... Truck has headers and the stock starter is having trouble when warm. I have a powermaster mini starter but I don't want to put it on in case the tooth count is wrong on the flexplate..
Anyone know off the top of their head what it should be?

Chevy used 153 and 168... not 152

And not on a big block, 153 was on Camaro's and Caprice's IIRC, but small block only.

High compression engines use 153 tooth plates. My ZZ4 comes from the factory with a 153. I had to buy a BB starter to keep it.

Well the starter I have is for 168s so I hope thats what is is. haha
