4x4 Tahoe I want it lowered
I'm looking @ purchasing a 1999 Tahoe 4x4. BUT I do not want to convert it to 2wd. We still see a fair amount of snow in this area, and having the ability to flip on the 4wd would be killer. This is a budget build, so I need to do it inexpensively. I'd like to get a decent drop, throw on some nice wheels/tires, tint, replace the gril and front bumper cover, add a roll pan, and it would look killer I think.
Who has lowered a 4x4 that can comment? What pitfalls am I looking at? I appreciate any comments or suggestions... |

Re: 4x4 Tahoe I want it lowered
i lowered mine, its a 2/4 drop on 22s. is really fun in the snow in 4wd. mine is a 02 though. it doesnt cost much to lower them, depending on drop. buy lowering keys for the front and shacles for the rear on yours, maybe hangers if 2in isnt enough drop for you.

My C3 is AWD and lowered 3/5.
Just watch your CV and tie rod angles when you are lowering and you will be fine. There are other forums with 4x4 street sections that deal with lowering 4x4s.
