brake bleeding engine running?

do you have to have the engine running to bleed the brakes on a power disc/disc setup, i was always told yes?

Nope, get a one person brake bleeding tool and you will never have to pump those breaks again

thanks guys, thats what i kinda figured just wanted to make sure, i guess over the years everyone that told me to "start the vehicle first before we bleed the breaks" wre either lazy or had weak leg muscles hmmmm......they were all my elders to ahhh they were always on the pedal end too makes sense now.
