Re: Saddle Houndstooth Bucket Covers

Intrested, do you think a rear seat cover (blazer) could be scrounged up from a vendor? Any ideas...

Re: Saddle Houndstooth Bucket Covers

I believe so.I say this because a friend with a Suburban had a buddy bucket custom covered using houndstooth to match a rear seat cover he bought.I`ll give him a call and see what the deal is.

Re: Saddle Houndstooth Bucket Covers

Have any of you modified 73 and up seats to accept these 71-72 style seat covers ? I like the look of those much better than the 77 seats .

Re: Saddle Houndstooth Bucket Covers

very easy.if you are putting them in 73 up all you will need to do is match the bottom cover.to the 73 up style. the frame on 69 thru 72 runs flat on the bottom.the 73 up frame runs flat for about 4 inches on each side and then tapers up about 1 1/2" to the rear.if you remove the 73 up seat cover and lay it next to the 72 style you will see exactly what I mean.you only have to unstich a small section of the wire holder that the hog rings attach to. trim the material to match the taper of the 73 stlye and restich the wire holder.all that is necessary to put the upper cover on is to add foam at the top to match the 72 style foam.I can take some pick of each tomorrow and show you the differances. If you want to make 73 up seats match correct 72 style you have to weld a pie shaped piece to the lower skirt to make the lower skirt flat across and then the 72 cover fits correct.the frames are the same.the only differance is the lower skirt and the upper foam.even 77 up high back have the same frame just another bar welded across the top and differant upper foam.

Monroe
Or you can purchase a new pair of seatback foams. I'm in the process of doing it now

Re: Saddle Houndstooth Bucket Covers

David,I`m glad you like them.As always,I fret a bit until I hear a person is happy with anything I sell.I look at it as if I was the buyer and hope to offer what is expected.I`d like to think any differences in fabric,if any, will be very un-noticeable from front seats to back. Can`t wait to see this Blazer when it`s done!
