What did you use to hold up the back of the radio?

Re: sorry guys...Cut the dash.
I don't want to hijack this post so please don't post on this thread, PM me after reading my post below.
This is the one I made...I designed it, had the CAD file made, and then had another board member CNC machine them for me. Quote:

I sold all the radio plates but if there is enough interest I will see about having some more made. I would need to have a minimum of 20 people committed to cover renewing my vendor subscription on here and find a new CNC guy. If I don't get that many I would lose money making more (I didn't really make money on the first batch after I paid my CAD guy). I would need at least a $10 deposit to reserve one for anyone interested and if I don't get 20 people within 30 days I will refund the money. I'm a trustworthy guy, ask anyone on here that bought one of the first 50 I made. |

Re: sorry guys...Cut the dash.
[QUOTE=Sublvr72;3797524]I decided today I was going to go away from the OE look and install a modern radio. Here are a few carnage pics.[QUOTE]
The previous owner of my truck, Mickey Mouse and his helper Goofy, had already cut the dash so, just to make it Mo Bettah I cut mine some more...yup got out my air grinder and cut out the rest then just welded in a brand new piece of straight flat metal! Either way, if you take some time and care it can look great! |

Re: sorry guys...Cut the dash.
Wow - that is a great dashpad, do you have any more pics where the gauges are visible? Where did you buy it or did you make it yourself?

Re: sorry guys...Cut the dash.
I cut mine just before I painted the truck, if you flatten the dimples left over from the old radio knob holes, the new rectangular unit will just cover the holes. I used a c clamp and just tightened it until the dimples were flat. I did go ahead and fill the partial hole with my MIG only because I was getting ready to paint.

Re: sorry guys...Cut the dash.
The one by Mahania is very ncie, I'm surprised that some bigger company, like LMC, is not selling them or has not stolen the idea yet. Anyone installing an aftermarket head unit could really use one.

Re: sorry guys...Cut the dash.
I didn't cut my dash, I built a console, But if I was to do it again I would check out Hidden Audio. Everything is hidden except for a reader for the remote. P.S does anyone have a radio delete plate.
