good ball joints- good price?
I am going through my entire front end and am looking for just stock ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.. Anyone here know of any place online that has quality stuff at a decent price?
Thanks ahead of time. |

Re: good ball joints- good price?
I found the best prices on MOOG stuff at rockauto.com.
But when all the parts got to the house they were the wrong parts and some werent MOOG, but in MOOG boxes. autozone's duralast parts are actually MOOG parts, in Duralast boxes. A buddy told me that, and since i had to go get new parts anyways.....sure enough the duralast parts had MOOG part numbers and MOOG branded grease boots. autozone's duralast were cheaper than rockauto if i recall. Re: good ball joints- good price?
Be careful with Autozone...they've been hiring people based entirely on what the interviewee SAYS their ethics are, without regard to experience/skills/knowledge. I've been getting a lot of boxes with wrong parts in them, and more than the usual proportion of people who don't know what they are doing or looking at (including one that couldn't recognize a master cylinder)
Basically, make sure you know what you are asking for (as in look up the part number yourself on their site or better), give the counter person the part number, and double check INSIDE the packaging before leaving the store. You should be OK then.

Re: good ball joints- good price?
I bought some ball joints from the Truck and Car Shop in Orange CA and they were made in Taiwan junk. Bought some "Parts Master" ones and they made in the USA and very nicely made. As nice as any Moog part.
