How do you remove the trim piece that wraps around the back of the cab without damaging it.

The trim is held on by a fastener that goes through a hole drilled in the cab.There is a little nut on the inside of the cab if you look up behind the metal coming down from the upper seatbelt anchors. You can get at it with a wrench. One the nut is off, you can pretty much pull the trim straight off of the sides of the truck, and then slide off the large center piece.

I went to the junk yard and learned how to take them off on their trucks. That's what I do when I'm there. That way if you break it, it doesn't matter. You have to take the corner speakers out to get under that metal corner piece. Oh, and don't drop your tools down in the corner. You'll need a strong magnet on a stick to get them out. You also have to be a magician or double jointed to put the nuts back on .

Nice....Thanks guys. Mine has already been removed and the holes filled but I am trying to find one somewhere and didn't want to destroy it when I did. I wonder if you could just put it on with that double sided tape instead of drilling holes for it???

when i took the trim off of the 87 it had stud like things protruding from the cab, not holes for bolts.... I dont remember how i got them off, I didnt want to put them back on the truck at the time.

The large back strip has studs that come out of the cab on which the plastic clips attach to. These plastic clips hold on the back piece under the window. Just the corner pieces have one clip on the side of the cab that bolts through the hole. Where the corner piece meets the long strip (mentioned above), it just tucks inside of it and it is held in place. Therefore, there are just studs along the back of the cab, and one hole on each side of the cab. Hope this helps, I'm sure that one could use tape in order to attach the corner trim if they wanted.
