89 suburban parts into 82 short bed

just bought a 82 short bed with manual doors, and a 89 suburban for parts. trying to find the thread on rear suburban gas tank install, also need to know if i should use the dash wiring, under hood wiring, abs master cylinder, fuse block. I guess i'am asking should i update everything under the hood and inside cab. I want to use the fuse block so every thing will just plug back in including the headlight harness.

Re: 89 suburban parts into 82 short bed

I used a suburban tank in mine. It is pretty big. I think that if it its going in a 2wd rig it wont work. The front of the tank in mine sits over the rear end. I dont know if they had a smaller tank in some of the suburbans like the balzers.

Re: 89 suburban parts into 82 short bed

Also, to keep the tank from hanging too low, I kept the top of the tank higher than the frame rails. So I had to clearance one of the ribs on the bottom of the bed. (sorry no pics of that)
