Frustarting day.

Well i had a frustartaing day. i started doing the timing chain and new balancer project. well things just did not go my way i get the balancer of as you all remeber i had posted it was wobbling and when i got it off it was gone the seals everything about it was gone. so i decided to compare the new balancer to the old to make sure it was the right size nope the new one is 8 inch my old one is a 6inch and nobody in town has one in stock so i have to order it. then i smash my thumb and cut my finger cuss out my truck.lol And i pull timing cover off and its got the orignal timing chain worn out all to heck. anywyas i noticed a nice groove on the tip of the crank im not sure from what but something has been riding on it. I hope it wont hurt anything also the crankshft keys or dowels are worn out and they where a pain to remove. ahh what a day and i didnt get anything accomplished.

If by chance that groove in the crank is in the area where the front seal in the timing cover rides it would be a good idea to fix it before you put it all back together. I beleive someone makes a kit to offset the front seal so it rides out away from the grooved area.

Yeah Bob, but what fun would it be to just get in and drive? I don't know if I would like it not having anything to work on or fix.

Ya sometimes i wonder what i was thinking buying my truck but it is what i wanted. well the morons around town cant understand the difference btween a 6 3/4 inch balancer to a 8 inch. i finnaly got to talk to a smart guy at performance motorsports thats the best place here to go to get parts he finnaly orderd the right balancer that i need and it will be here today. in the eman time the tool i rented is costing me by the day. And to top it all off i went to step up in my truck to positon my new timing chain and i put my foot through my grill man i was mad i was throwing stuff all over. Now i have to buy a new grill my truck is going to look like crap until i can replace it. after calming down i finnaly got my timing chain on and cover.hope it doesnt leak

Ya that would be nice if i could get my balancer. i guess the guy at performance is just as dumb as the rest i asked for 6 3/4 blamncer and they order a 8inch. so now im out of a balancer nobody carrys them and everytime i order one they get the wrong one. i would order from summit but i have to send a money order which will take more time than i have. I live in apt's and have to work onmy truck at in laws and they dont like my stuff being there to long. needles to say we dont exactly get along to well. so another day and im not happy
