71 C-20 New Project
Hello every one new member here. Glad I found this forum this will help me alot with my new project. I have a 1971 C-20 LB I am starting to restore/rebuild. It has been on the familiy for 20+ years and has sat in a field for about 6 years while I was stationed in Europe. The truck was originally my wifes in highschool but we grew up together I put work into it years ago. I have had it shipped here to sunny FLorida and am going to start my own "money hole". The body is in pretty good shape the only real rust is on the inside kick panels and the bed. I am planing to first get it running then start with upgrading as much as I can. I already have a 350 crate motor I am going to put in. Here are some of the things I would like to do.
1. Rear disc brake conversion 2. New 350i engine 3. Rebuilt a/c 4. Possible air ride system 5. Frame up rebuild 6. All teflon hosing ( I work in hydraulics so self build) 7. New cab seats 8. Carpeting 8. Restore interior 9. Paint and body 10. Possible 4x4 conversion (up in the air) 11. Pretty much replace everything worn and old. I am really glad I have found this site I have already read alot of threads that have given me alot of ideas. I can tell there is alot of knowledge I can draw off of. I am hiding at work so I will upload the pictures when I get a chance. Last edited by vr4extrm; 05-11-2010 at 02:56 PM. Reason: edit |

Re: 71 C-20 *New Project* (Possible 4x4 conv.)
Nice solid looking truck. I am redoing a 71 c20 also. Mine is down to the frame, and I wish that I would have kept it driveable, and done 1 thing at a time. I miss driving it. If you need any emblems, mine are good, and I'm not going to use them. If you want that intake to go to a good home, I'v got a good home for it in my 71!
