Question Vendor to use, Question

Am going to rebuild inline 250 and was wondering if anyone on the board has ever used "Titan Engines" kits or "Engine_Kits" on ebay and what they thought of the quality of the their parts? or maybe other ideas?.........thanks in advance

Re: Vendor to use, Question

Not a clue about Titan, but if your planning a "rebuild" of your existing 250, any good machine shop can handle this. I would recommend you support a local shop, and you can be more involved in the details/upgrades.

I also recommend you read on inliners.org, as there is a wealth of info about building chevy inlines. The 250 is a great engine, and cheaper than a 292 which is what I am building. If you want to make it killer, you can use flat top 307 pistons, mild cam, bigger valves, Offy intake and bigger carb, HEI, headers, and really make it run.

Check out inliers.org = Tom Lowe's recent dyno tests on 250 configurations.

good luck!

And I would stick to Federal Moguls Sealed Power engine kits (pistons etc) any of the name bearings like Cleavite or King. Schnieder Cams and Comp Cams have some good cams. Fel Pro for gaskets. Upgrade to ARP on critical bolts like rod, etc if your building any power.

Give this outfit a try:

www.engine-parts.com/Antique/

The owner is Dave Anderson. They have a pretty impressive resume with the old power plants. I have two '66 Chevy truck 283 motors there now.
