Need a question answered ASAP

i found a 12 rear end with 3.73 and limited slip on craigslist today for $200. it's out of a 78 4x4 blazer. i'm about to go take a look at it tomorrow with cash in hand. my question though is, this axle will swap into my 79 2wd correct? dumb question i know....but sometimes when you find a good deal, you get tunnel vision haha

here's the add for reference

Re: Need a question answered ASAP

I have a 12 bolt out of a 77 in my 83. If it has a Gov-lock, it will not last long behind a strong motor.

Re: Need a question answered ASAP

The axle itself will only thing that will need to be switched will be the axle shafts themselves the 4x4 has a 6 lug axle shaft and your 2wd has 5 lug axle shafts so unless you want 6 lug rims then they will have to be swapped out.other than that it should bolt right in.
