Re: 67-72 swb

No such thing as a Short Wide Bed. I try not to correct people when they say that, but sometimes I can't help myself as it's a pet peeve of mine!

....."you mean, Short Wheel Base?"

Oh, sometimes if I'm being 'nice' I'll ask if they mean fleetside or stepside...

Re: 67-72 swb

GM use the acronym SWB as a definition for the 115" wheel base trucks for the 67-72 year models.

Good enough for me.

Re: 67-72 swb

It`s ok to call a truck a short wide bed if that`s what it is.But,it`s not abbreviated as swb because that stands for short wheel base.Fleetside is a wide bed...Chevy.But,a GMC is a Wideside,a Dodge is a Sweptline, and a Ford is a Styleside. So,for a name that fits that general configuration "short wide bed" covers it just fine. It`s generic. Is a Stepside a snb?...No.It`s funny though, people call all the makes Stepsides when the GMC is a Fenderside,a Dodge is a Utiline, and a Ford is a Flareside.After`87 the GMs are called Sportsides.I rarely see anyone use the right names, though.
