sm465 chrome shifter
What would a 4wd 465 shifter be worth in good condition with aftermarket knob.

Re: sm465 chrome shifter
A vendor had a shifter set (transfer and trans) on here a while back with decent chrome and nice shift knobs for $125. If it was a 2 wheel drive shifter, I would have been all over it. Do you have one that you are thinking of selling? If so, let me know.

Re: sm465 chrome shifter
Not sure what to ask if I sell it. I would need someones non-chrome in exchange with $$. I was hoping someone could give an idea of what they go for, with not many replys they must be harder to find?LOL

Re: sm465 chrome shifter
Well the reason why I ask is because I might be interested. I have a shifter I could trade back to you, but I'm not sure if I want to just keep mine painted black or go with a chrome shifter. My interior will be all black, but a couple chrome pieces of hardware might make it look real nice. I would need you to PM me some pics and give me an idea of how much money your looking to get above me trading you my shifter.

Re: sm465 chrome shifter
Since this isn`t a sale forum we should at least reply in reference to what it`s worth.Members come here to establish a value prior to listing for sale. That`s the whole point. He can`t sell it until he has a value. He can`t list it for sale @ best offer because that`s against the rule he is tryng to follow. This isn`t a 1st dibs forum. The best way to get 1st dibs is give a price, like me...$60.I have a painted shifter to trade if you decide to move ahead. So,what`s a painted shifter worth?...$80 J/K!I could easily have my shifter chromed for the cost of a chrome shifter, prolly less. But,if it`s that you need one,I`d trade to get you what you need.I`d like to be notified if you decide to make a move on listing it for trade.I`d figure the painted one is worth 1/2 as much.Personally,I`d make a better offer if you do decide to trade it off.Did you consider trading even-up for a powdercoated shifter?Or,doesn`t yours need to be that nice?
It`s not that they are rare. It`s that this forum gets limited responses on everything. And,prices on used parts aren`t really known with confidence by many.We just see an asking price and decide if it seems worth it to us.I just bought two GMC front fenders with original paint and no rust. One cost 2x what the other did.The cheaper one had dents in the front cup and the other was perfect. The repro knob isn`t helping the value,IMO.

Re: sm465 chrome shifter
Is this the straight 4x4 one for 67-72? If so, they are worth around $90-100. That is without a core exchange. They are getting harder to find, I have been looking for one for the past couple of months. Rob (Blazerman) had one at the start of December, but I missed out on it. Good luck on the sell. Trevor

Re: sm465 chrome shifter
Did you not read Special K's warning above? This is not a "For Sale" area.
Please don't break the rules by trying to turn it into one.
