What do you guys think about this idea?
Guys,
I have been thinking for a while now on using the 1955-56-57 Chevrolet Valve Cover Stencil on my Cowl Hood. I think it would bring that Chevrolet Classic Look to it and add a little Nostalgia to her. What do you guys think???? http://www.carsinctrifive.com/1957-c...over/pid-6776/

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
come on ditch the Pro street emblem..do you think you can hid te Fatties
the chevy embles are a good idea though just pick on that fits the rest on the truck the first one seems t match your vavle covers.... on a side note I was thinking of having my caddy VC's lettered with 472 Caddy or going with a clean emblem...the last time I was at pick and pull there where no zero none..every emblem had been plucked even the inside Last edited by Hottrucks; 05-20-2010 at 08:57 PM. |

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
how about a set of these....ok just KIDDING your truck is very clean don't clutter it up if someone can't tell its a pro street chevy truck it won't matter anyway.. I would rather hear the arguments over wether its a 62 or 63 at least those people have a clue!!

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
I adore the font/script/typography on that gold 57' piece. I honestly prefer the look of de-badged trucks. Clean etc etc. but this piece has me second guessing.
your truck is simple and beautiful right now. i have to agree with Hottrucks on that. you don't want to over use any single idea on a truck. I mean choose one place for it and go with it. valve covers or cowl or dash but in my opinion not all three. |

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
Ok.... So which Script looks better?
Italic or Straight? Or just a Painted or Decal in the side of the cowl hood??

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
my vote. if you are keeping that paint that makes the whole truck looked dipped. (deep thick gorgeous smooth paint) i say decal or paint under the clear and i say no italic or if you are in love with the italics have someone flip the direction of the lean on passenger side so they both look swept "back" towards the back of the truck.

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
That looks great on there IMO. What is the original application for that script emblem?
Nice interior too BTW.....

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
If the grille and front bumper are chrome, I think the metal script would look perfect. A chunk of die cast is more old school. If the truck is completely without bright trim, the decal might be a better fit. Decals seem like more of an 80's accessory to me, when cars had blacked out trim. I always thought it would be cool to have an early Corvette Fuel Injection script mounted up front, but not without F.I. on the engine.

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
I like the classic look, even though it is not era-correct for the sixties, it still screams classic bowtie!

Re: What do you guys think about this idea?
Guys,
The grille will be anodized aluminum or chrome. I have 2 grilles. The front and rear bumpers will be chrome. I will also be putting the custom trim on next to the windows. Going to put the Chevrolet script on the glove box. I would also like the trim around the windshield and window vents.
