Nothing ever fits...

Man... is it just me or does nothing (even brand new, expensive) ever fit?
I'm just tired of beting and grinding brand new parts because they don't fit.

rant over ...

Hopefully the project I started 6 weeks ago will get finished later today.

Re: Nothing ever fits...

The box sometimes has a better chance of fitting than the actual part contained in it.

Re: Nothing ever fits...

It doesn't get my goat so much when junk yard parts need some coaching to fit, but when you buy brand new things it's usualy in the hope that you won't have to spend a lot of time at the grinder and wanging on them with a bfh.

And then,... to add insult to injury ... It started pounding down rain.

Re: Nothing ever fits...

I feel your pain. Bolt-on parts always seem to require "slight" modification. And when I say slight I mean hours and hours of swearing, test-fitting, more modifying, more swearing... You know what I'm talking about.

I like when you have a part shipped to your shop that you have waited for 4 hours to open it up to get someones core.

Re: Nothing ever fits...

Or even worse people go into the auto parts store and switch an oil filter for expensive one. Happened last week, am almost done with the oil change, to find a fricken FRAM in a AC Delco box.

Doh!

Or a couple weeks ago, I bought some new wiper blades, it was the last thing I grabbed on my way out. I get home and one of the two wiper blade boxes is empty . Guess I should have looked before I bought it.
