Question Stuck float?

I've got a 72' GMC Truck I'm working on with the standard Edelbrock carb on it. I think the float is stuck, but I'm not sure. I know where to look for fuel dumping out on a Holley, but my Edelbrock experience is very(very) limited. When a float sticks on an Edelbrock and the needle stays open, where does it dump fuel? Also how do you free the float? Thanks for the info.

Re: Stuck float?

What problem do you have? If the float is stuck, down, it should be blowing black smoke out the tail. It will idle really rough at first, then die and wash the cylinder walls. Be sure and check for a leaking float as it will sink.

Re: Stuck float?

It's not doing any of that. I just replaced the fuel pump, filter and lines from the tank. It cranks, but fails to turnover. I checked to ensure fuel was coming from the line through the filter and checks out ok. My only other thought is the float must be stuck....suggestions?
