Just Bought Another Truck- 80 GMC C25 Camper Special
Hey All! So I've been truck-free for almost a year now, since I sold my 61 GMC 930 last summer, and haven't visited the boards much since then. BUUUTTTTT, as you all know, trucks are an addiction, and another one followed me home yesterday. I've now owned 5 old Chevrolet/GMC trucks and 1 Camaro in the span of 4 years.
The newest truck is an 80 GMC C25 Camper Special (I seem to have a habit of picking up Camper Specials, my 79 1 ton was one as well). The 80 has a 350 with the 3 speed transmission with bull low. It runs and drives OK, but is pretty rough and needs lots of work. It has a slow oil leak coming from somewhere, the belts on it squeal like mad, it needs body work on the front fenders, rear wheel wells box floor, hood, and driver's side sill/rocker, as well as major interior work and a windshield. Plans for now are just to get that ugly cap off, and then either try and flip the truck, or maybe keep it and fix it up just enough to get it through safety and use it as an old beater farm truck. *Note the original maintenance schedule and warranty found in the glove compartment*

nice truck.. that cap although ugly is a great contractor cap. it will look 1000 times better without it and if you freshen up the interior it will really be nice good luck

It would be interesting to know where the truck was built; Flint is real close to you, but oshowa(sp?) would be "closer" for political/tax/other reasons....
As i side note, mine was built in Oshawa and any Canadian built car i've had has been super high quality. Last edited by C-10 simplex; 05-24-2010 at 02:38 PM. |

old rusty C10: Yep that cap is going to be the first thing to go, hoping to get it off tonight, will post a pic when it's done.
C-10 simplex: This truck was made in Oshawa. Living close to the border I have owned trucks that were American-built though, people frequently bring them across the border because you can find the same truck for 1/2 the price just 20 minutes across the border. Even accounting for exchange rate and border fees, it's still cheaper to go that route in most cases (namely higher-value trucks, not like this ol beater lol).
