My 76 C10 upcoming project.
Alright guys - this is a great site here, lots of info. I have been looking on it for a while and decided to post.
I have a 76 chev c10. longbox, reg cab with a 250 engine. I am looking to do her up as a good looking show truck and daily summer driver. I do have a few questions though. Please stick with me, this is my first tuck project as I usually stick to the antique tractors. I am hoping to do it red and white. Right now it is light gray with gray and blue interior. This truck only has 2 gauges- tach and fuel. The other four lens are just warning ligths for oil, brake, temp and gen. I will probably change them all for gauges and install an rpm gauge somewhere. This truck also has no power seering. How hard would it be to install a ps unit? The 250 i think is dirty as it tends to have run on and the timing is set parfect. I may be able to get a 350 engine and trans from the same year truck. How hard would it be to change and what would need to be moved or replaced. Would the drive shaft be to long? or would the 350 bolt right to the tranny in the truck now. Both trans are auto. I don't no the numbers of either. How hard are interior parts to come across. Can they be bought through the local napa or carquest. I live in southern ontario so would parts be readily available around here. I would like the interior red and white to match the exterior. Also I would like to replace the black gauge cluster dash with an aluminum one. where could I find these. Thats about all the questions for now but I will be posting more. Also pics for encouragement would be great. thanks alot. Lyle |
